Guidelines for cleanliness of workshop and maintenance 🧹✨

Objectives: આ lesson ના અંતે તમે નીચેની બાબતો શીખી શકશો:

• Workshop ની સફાઈની જરૂરિયાત (necessity) સમજાવી શકશો.
• Shop floor cleaning અને maintenance ના ફાયદાઓ જણાવી શકશો.
• Workshop માં સામાન્ય cleaning procedure જણાવી શકશો.
• Cleaning process ની અલગ-અલગ પદ્ધતિઓ (methods) જણાવી શકશો.
• 5s techniques નો concept અને તેનું વર્ણન કરી શકશો.
• 5s techniques ના ફાયદાઓ જણાવી શકશો.

Cleaning process (સફાઈની પ્રક્રિયા) 🧼

Cleaning એ પર્યાવરણમાંથી unwanted matter (બિનજરૂરી વસ્તુઓ), contaminants (દૂષિત પદાર્થો) અથવા pollutants ને દૂર કરવાની પ્રક્રિયા છે, તેથી તે GREEN clean હોવું જોઈએ. ‘Green-cleaning’ નો અર્થ છે કે સફાઈ કરવાની પ્રક્રિયા જાતે જ સ્વચ્છ હોવી જોઈએ અને પોતાની જાતને સુરક્ષિત રાખવી જોઈએ.

“Cleaning is about removing pollution, not adding to it.” 💡 (સફાઈ એ પ્રદૂષણને દૂર કરવા માટે છે, તેમાં ઉમેરો કરવા માટે નથી.)

Necessity of cleaning of workshop (વર્કશોપની સફાઈની જરૂરિયાત) 🏗️

એક સ્વચ્છ workplace કર્મચારીઓની safety અને health ની ખાતરી આપે છે. સફાઈ અને સુરક્ષિત વાતાવરણ જાળવવા માટે યોગ્ય પગલાં લેવાથી ઇજાઓ (injuries) અટકાવી શકાય છે.

Reasons for cleaning the workplace (કાર્યસ્થળની સફાઈના કારણો) ❓

• કાર્યસ્થળમાં લપસી જવાથી (slips) અને પડવાથી (falls) બચવા માટે dry floors ની સફાઈ અનિવાર્ય છે.
• Disinfectants (જંતુનાશકો) germs ને ફેલાતા અટકાવે છે અને બીમારીઓ દૂર રાખે છે.
• Proper air filtration થી ધૂળ (dust) અને વરાળ (vapors) જેવા ખતરનાક પદાર્થોના સંપર્કને ઘટાડી શકાય છે.
• Lighting fixtures (લાઈટ ફિટિંગ) ની સફાઈ કરવાથી lighting efficiency માં સુધારો થાય છે. 💡
• Green cleaning products નો ઉપયોગ કરવો જે કર્મચારીઓ અને પર્યાવરણ બંને માટે સુરક્ષિત છે.
• નકામા અને recyclable materials નો યોગ્ય નિકાલ કરવાથી કામ કરવાની જગ્યા ચોખ્ખી રહે છે.

Benefits of a shop floor maintenance (શોપ ફ્લોર મેન્ટેનન્સના ફાયદા) 📈

• Productivity (ઉત્પાદકતા) માં સુધારો કરી શકાય છે.
• Operator ની કાર્યક્ષમતા (efficiency) વધે છે.
• Support operations જેવા કે replacement moves અને finished goods ના સંચાલનમાં સુધારો થાય છે.
• Scrap (ભંગાર) માં ઘટાડો થાય છે. ♻️
• Manufacturing process ને અસરકારક રીતે નિયંત્રિત કરી શકાય છે.
• બહેતર મશીન મોનિટરિંગને કારણે downtime (મશીન બંધ રહેવાનો સમય) માં ઘટાડો થાય છે.
• Inventory process પર બહેતર નિયંત્રણ રહે છે.

Common cleaning procedure (સામાન્ય સફાઈ પ્રક્રિયા) 📋

• સફાઈ શરૂ કરતા પહેલા, product અને equipment ના લેબલ અને વપરાશની સૂચનાઓ વાંચો.
• ભલામણ કરેલ Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) પહેરો, જેમ કે rubber gloves, surgical type gloves, goggles, dust mask અથવા respirator, earplugs વગેરે. 🛡️
• Soil, contaminants અથવા pollutants ને અટકાવવા અથવા દૂર કરવા માટે સફાઈ કરવી આવશ્યક છે.
• ઓછા ઝેરી (less toxic) ઉત્પાદનો પસંદ કરો અને આ સિસ્ટમ “Standard Operating Procedures” (SOPs) તરીકે ઓળખાય છે.
• SOP એ એકંદર operation અને maintenance plan નો ભાગ છે.

• Sprinkling (છંટકાવ) 💦
• Spraying (સ્પ્રેઈંગ)
• Power wash process
• Boiling under pressure (દબાણ હેઠળ ઉકાળવું)
• Carbon dioxide cleaning
• Pre-cleaning (પૂર્વ-સફાઈ)
• Main cleaning (મુખ્ય સફાઈ)
• Rinsing (ધોઈ નાખવું)
• Drying etc. (સુકવવું વગેરે)

સફાઈ કરવાની રીતને પ્રમાણિત (standardising) કરવા માટે Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) નો ઉપયોગ કરવામાં આવે છે. ક્લીનર્સને લેખિત માર્ગદર્શિકા પૂરી પાડવી જોઈએ જેમાં નીચેનાનો સમાવેશ થાય છે:

1. Cleaning procedures
2. Chemical handling અને tracking requirements
3. Communication protocols
4. Training અને inspection programs
5. Reporting અને record keeping procedures

Recommended activities for green cleaning 🌱

• સ્થાનિક ભાષાઓમાં લખેલા સફાઈ સ્ટાફને સરળતાથી સમજી શકાય તેવા નિર્દેશો આપો.
• યોગ્ય ટેકનોલોજીનો ઉપયોગ કરો (coarse spray, automatic chemical dispensers વગેરે).
• વપરાયેલા અથવા ખાલી સોલ્યુશન કન્ટેનરના યોગ્ય નિકાલ માટે directory પૂરી પાડો.
• જો શક્ય હોય તો સફાઈના રસાયણોનો ઉપયોગ ઘટાડવો અથવા દૂર કરવો.

5 Steps (5s) – Concept 🖐️

5s એ લોકોલક્ષી (people-oriented) અને પ્રેક્ટિસલક્ષી (practice-oriented) અભિગમ છે. 5s અપેક્ષા રાખે છે કે સંસ્થામાં દરેક વ્યક્તિ તેમાં ભાગ લે. તે સંસ્થામાં સતત સુધારા (continuous improvement) માટેનો મૂળભૂત આધાર બને છે.

The terms (5s) 5 steps are:

• Step 1: SEIRI (Sorting out) – બિનજરૂરી વસ્તુઓ અલગ કરવી.
• Step 2: SEITON (Systematic arrangement) – ક્રમબદ્ધ ગોઠવણી.
• Step 3: SEISO (Shine cleanliness) – સ્વચ્છતા અને ચમક.
• Step 4: SEIKETSU (Standardization) – પ્રમાણીકરણ.
• Step 5: SHITSUKE (Self discipline) – સ્વ-શિસ્ત.

Fig 1 shows the 5s concept wheel. 🎡 આ લિસ્ટ સમજાવે છે કે વપરાયેલી વસ્તુઓને ઓળખીને અને સંગ્રહિત કરીને, વિસ્તાર જાળવી રાખીને અને નવી વ્યવસ્થા ટકાવી રાખીને કાર્યસ્થળને કાર્યક્ષમતા માટે કેવી રીતે વ્યવસ્થિત કરવું.

Benefits of 5s (5s ના ફાયદા) ✅

• Workplace વધુ સ્પષ્ટ અને વ્યવસ્થિત બને છે.
• કાર્યસ્થળમાં કામ કરવું સરળ બને છે.
• ખર્ચમાં ઘટાડો (Reduction in cost). 💰
• લોકો વધુ શિસ્તબદ્ધ (disciplined) બને છે.
• વિલંબ (Delay) ટાળી શકાય છે.
• ગેરહાજરી (Absenteeism) ઓછી થાય છે.
• Floor space નો સારો ઉપયોગ થાય છે.
• અકસ્માતો (Accidents) ઓછા થાય છે. ⚠️
• Quality સાથે ઉચ્ચ ઉત્પાદકતા (High productivity) મળે છે.

The 5s WHEEL ⚙️

1. SORT: બિનજરૂરી વસ્તુઓમાંથી જરૂરી વસ્તુઓને સ્પષ્ટપણે અલગ કરો અને બાદમાં તેને દૂર કરો.
2. STRAIGHTEN: જરૂરી વસ્તુઓને યોગ્ય જગ્યાએ રાખો જેથી સરળતાથી અને ઝડપથી મળી શકે.
3. SHINE: કાર્યસ્થળને એકદમ સ્વચ્છ રાખો.
4. STANDARDIZE: “SORT”, “STRAIGHTEN” અને “SHINE” કરવાની પદ્ધતિને આદત બનાવો.
5. SUSTAIN: સ્થાપિત પ્રક્રિયાઓ જાળવી રાખો (Maintain established procedures).
